K-TET registration begins today

The Pareekshabhavan, which has been entrusted with the conduct of the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET), will kickstart the registration procedures on Wednesday, July 18. The exam is scheduled to be held on August 25.

The K-TET was introduced by the State Government following the directives of the NCTE and in accordance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Teacher appointments in the state will henceforth take into consideration of the K-TET results too. It was following widespread protest from the teacher community that K-TET was limited to new appointments alone.

The questions in the test will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus published by the SCERT, says the prospectus. A person who scores 60 per cent or more in the K-TET examination will be considered as KTET pass. The registration has to be done in the Pareekshabhavan website www.keralapareekshabhavan.in. There will be a challan form in the link to choose the SBT Branch where fees could be remitted. Then the K-TET Online Application Form should be filled in where the number and ID from the challan has to be entered. After filling up the necessary details, the application form (online) should be uploaded. And a print out of the soft copy should be taken. This should be sent to the Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.

The last date for registration is July 31. The hall tickets will be issued online from August 15. Candidates will not be allowed to attend the exam without admit cards, the Pareekshabhavan officials said.  The Pareekshabhavan has started a helpline number for K-TET which is 0471 2546823 (General Information) and 0471 2546832 (Technical Information).
