The Vizhinjam Motherport Action Council (V-mac) has accused the government of increasing the outlay for the Vizhinjam port project, which, according to V-mac leaders would only serve to drive away potential investors. The outlay was Rs 5,250 crore when the government issued global tenders. Now it has been increased to Rs 6,050 crore, V-mac secretary Wilfred Culas said in a statement. V-mac has been campaigning to get the outlay reduced to Rs 3,650 crore.
