THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The doctors in the health service on Friday staged an agitation in front of the Directorate of Health Services here in protest against the government’s lackadaisical attitude on the promises given to them on various demands, including revision of night duty, PG deputation and protection of district/general hospitals that are now being converted into medical colleges.
The agitation was a prelude to the indefinite hunger strike called by the health service doctors from September 9. As many as 200 doctors from across the state participated in the agitation that was called by the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association. E
