THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The forms for making corrections in ration card details will be distributed from rations shops soon, the Civil Supplies Department said on Sunday.

The dates for the distribution of forms will be announced at the regional level. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob said that corrections, if any, can be made in the details already submitted to the department in the forms. They can be  re-submitted at the ration shops by October 15. “The schedule for distributing the forms at each ration shops will be announced regionally,” he said. Earlier, the department had introduced an online facility for rectifying the errors which crept in while entering the data for the new ration cards.

Last week, however, the department decided to scrap this system and allow card holders to make the corrections manually following complaints that the online system would cause hardships to the public.
