KU Academic Complex Stone-laying Tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed Platinum Jubilee Academic Complex in Kerala University’s Kariavattom campus, will be held on Friday.

The foundation stone will be unveiled by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at 10 am in the Seminar Hall of the Department of Aquatic Biology. Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb will preside over the function.

Vice Chancellor P K Radhakrishnan will deliver the introductory remarks. Pro Vice Chancellor N Veeramanikandan will welcome the gathering. Syndicate members and people’s representatives will also be present.

The Academic Complex has been envisaged to suit the needs of the school system, with all the departments of each school being brought under one roof.

The work is expected to be completed in nine phases. On completion, the academic complex will bring all the schools of the university with the associated departments within a building complex covering an area of nearly 50,000 square metres.
