THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A young couple, suspected to be lovers, was found dead in a hotel room at Pattom here on Saturday noon. The deceased are Akhil S Hari, 25, son of Harikumar, and Reshma Ravindran, 21, daughter of Ravindran, a resident of Madampi lane, Poonthole, Thrissur. The Museum police have registered a case of unnatural death and a probe has been initiated. Akhil and Reshma were staff nurses working at the Medical College and SUT Royal Hospital respectively.

Police said the couple was found dead in room no. 611 by the housekeeping staff of the hotel, around 2.30 pm.

Akhil was found hanging, while Reshma was found lying on the bed with her vein cut. A syringe was found near the body. The two checked in last Wednesday saying that they were husband and wife.

“Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide,” said the Museum CI.
