Two Die in Accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two youths died after the bike in which they were travelling collided with a truck at Kowdiar here on Saturday night. The deceased are Akhil, 20, son of Jayakumar, Enikkara, Karakulam, and Nithin Raj, 20, son of Rajan, a resident of High School Jn, Karakulam.

According to city traffic police, the accident occurred around 11.05 pm at Toll Junction when the speeding bike hit on the rear side of the truck after its driver applied sudden brake. Akhil and pillion rider Nithin Raj were thrown off the bike in the impact of the collision. Akhil died on the spot while Nithin succumbed to injuries at 1.10 am on Sunday at Medical College Hospital. The truck has been taken into custody and a case has been registered. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after an autopsy, the police said.
