Ex-servicemen's Rally Tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Lieutenant General Jagbir Singh, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, will inaugurate the Ex-Servicemen Rally planned at the Military Station, Pangode, on Sunday.  Major General A K Singh, General Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, and Brigadier Samir Salunke, Station Commander, Pangode Military Station will be present. As many as 4500 ex-servicemen are expected to attend the rally planned at the Colachel Stadium at the military station.

The army will donate modified two wheelers to seven physically challenged ex-servicemen and serving soldiers on the occasion. The senior-most veteran in the district, Lieutenant General (Retd) Thomas Mathew will be present at the function.

The aim of the rally is to interact with ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and widows, resolve pension related issues with respective record offices and keep them abreast of latest policies and guidelines, a defence spokesperson said.

The army has also asked defence/widow/family pensioners drawing pension through DPDO Thiruvananthapuram, to submit a copy of their Aadhaar card at the DPDO cell at the rally venue on Sunday.
