Traders' Body Flays Culling of Stray Dogs in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The All India Vyapari Vyavasayi Congress state committee on Saturday said it was willing to take the responsibility of rehabilitating stray dogs that have been termed a ‘menace’ in Kerala.

Speaking at the Press Club here, All India Vyapari Vyavasayi Congress state general secretary Mohanan Master and president Joy Daniel said the culling of the stray dogs in the state was highly condemnable. “The Vyapari Vyavasayi Congress will take care of these dogs provided the corporations, municipalities and panchayats allocate us the land required to carry out the rehabilitation,” they said. “The responsibility and cost required for the project will be taken care of by the organisation,” they said. The association leaders said they had already submitted a petition to the Chief Minister and the chief secretary and district administration to carry out the project first in Thrissur district.
