THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Director Dilesh Pothan will give away the Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival 2017 (PQFF2017) awards on Thursday at Travancore Hall, Technopark. PQFF2017 is a short film festival conducted by Prathidhwani, the Socio-Cultural and Welfare Organisation of IT Employees. As many as 35 short films directed by IT employees were screened at the film festival held at Technopark on December 2.

‘Awakening’ directed by Suraj Nair (Infosys) won the best film award, while ‘Rodham’ directed by Sarin (UST Global) bagged the second best film award. Deepak S Jay(Applexus Technologies) bagged the best director award for the film ‘45 Seconds’. When the best screenplay award went to Fredddy Abraham (Envestnet) for the film ‘Pretha Veedu’, the best performer award was shared by Mani Nair - for the film ‘June 1’ directed by Ratheesh C B (Envestnet) and Parvathy Krishnan - for the film ‘Awakening’ directed by Suraj Nair (Infosys).

Sibin Chandran got the best DOP award for the film ‘Yaar’ directed by Amal J Prasad (Alamy Images). The best editor award went to Appu Bhattathiri for the film ‘45 Seconds’ directed by Deepak S Jay (Applexus Technologies). ‘The Unsung Heros’ directed by Baburaj Asariya (Allianz) got the Special Jury Award.

The jury was headed by film critic M F Thomas. The others on the jury were Nemom Pushparaj and Vidhu Vincent.
