EPFO sets three-month window for employers

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has provided a three-month window for employers who failed to comply with the provisions of the EPF scheme.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has provided a three-month window for employers who failed to comply with the provisions of the EPF scheme.

The window, titled Employees Enrollment Campaign 2017, will be open up to March 31 this year, Arif Lohani, Regional PF Commissioner-1, Kerala, said. During this period employers can submit a declaration disclosing the details of all non-enrolled employees/workers who were not enrolled during April 1, 2009 and December 31, 2016.

The scheme also offers amnesty to such employers and they would have to pay just Re 1 per annum as penal damages for not registering their employees earlier. For details, visit www.epfindia.gov.in or www.epfindia.com.
