THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Swami Vivekananda was a revolutionary spiritual genius who envisaged a world which imbibed the values of the Vedas, Quran and Bible, Minister for Local Self-Government K T Jaleel has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the birth anniversary fete of Vivekananda which is celebrated as National Youth Day. The event was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra and Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs. The state was once referred to as a mental asylum by Vivekananda. But it was transformed into a progressive one by the effort of many determined youths, he said.
