‘Ente Rakshakan’ to premiere at Kowdiar on Friday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Around 150 artists, 50 animals and birds and a stage that stands two storeys high.
‘Ente Rakshakan’, billed as the biggest Bible stage show in the country, will premiere at Salvation Army Ground, Kowdiar, at 7 pm on Friday.  Directed by Soorya Krishnamoorthi, the show is a joint effort by Changanassery Sargakshetra, Mar Chrysostom World Peace Foundation and Soorya Theatre. 

There will be two presentations on January 21 and 23 for members of Soorya, and on January 24, a special show to mark the 100th birthday of ‘Valiya’ Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Church, Most Rev Philipose Mar Chrysostom.

‘Ente Rakshakan’ (My Saviour) is produced by 20 individuals of different faiths from India and the Gulf.
Poet V Madhusoodanan Nair has penned the lyrics for the unique show, which has music by Pundit Ramesh Narayan, while Pattanam Rasheed has handled the make-up. Abheesh Raj has trained the animals for the show.  The actors and dancers belong to Soorya Theatre.

The plan is to present the show on 100 stages in five years. In February, ‘Ente Rakshakan’ will be staged in Changanassery and Mavelikkara. Kottayam and Ernakulam will be its venues in March, while in April, it would be staged in Angamaly and Thrissur.
