THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Medex 2017, the artistic medical exhibition at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College saw a large crowd on Sunday with as many as 10,000 people visiting the exhibition. The exhibition that started on January 3 till now has been visited by about 1.5 lakh people. It was on January 26 (republic day) that Medex saw the highest crowd with about 15,000 people visiting the exhibition.
With heavy rush continuing, the authorities has extended the medical exhibition till February 12. The timing of the exhibition was also rescheduled last week and has been extended till 11 pm.
The exhibition showcases more than 1,000 exhibits depicting normal to pathological varients, original specimens of diseases, animation and videos, medical illustrations and posters, virtual and augmented reality shows, mega walk -ins and interactive learning devices. Besides this, replicas of operation theatres and a virtual reality box is also present that gives a three-dimensional experience. The visitors can also have experience of live surgeries that is performed at the medical college.
