THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Indywood, a consortium headed by director Sohan Roy, launched Travancore Treasures, a tourism package to promote Thiruvananthapuram as a major film and tourism destination. Aries Plex, country’s only theatre with dual 4k projection, Aries Vismayas Max Studio, Aries Guinness snake boat, Magic Planet and various film locations will be the major attractions of the 10-billion US dollar project.

As part of the project there will be daily screenings of Baahubali at Aries Plex. “Aries Plex is often frequented by film lovers from others states. In order to promote 4k film tourism there will be one show of Bahubali during the entire year,” said Sohan Roy.

The main objective of Travancore Treasures is to blend tourism and entertainment, and brand the city  as a major destination by arranging visits to a string of interesting spots. “Film and Tourism are an integral part of our life irrespective of socio, economic, cultural and religious differences,” he added. The tour package starts with watching Baahubali movie in 4k moving on to Vismayas Max Studio to know the process of movie making.  You can also have a look at the  display of actor Mohanlal’s souvenirs and 143.25 feet long Aries Guinness Chundan, longest steel-made snake boat in Kerala, built at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. Later visitors will be taken around Magic Planet and the main shooting locations in the city.
