THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has come out against the RSS for its resolution against the CPM. The Sangh Parivar national leadership should urge the state RSS to give up violence, Kodiyeri demanded.

In a statement here, Kodiyeri said on Monday that the RSS should withdraw from its move to sabotage state government’s attempts to bring peace in Kannur.

“The RSS should stay away from violence in party offices and attacking women. The RSS central leadership, which came up with an anti-violence resolution, should urge its state leadership to give up violence too,” the statement said.

Kodiyeri accused the Sangh Parivar of indulging in violence while preaching peace. After the LDF came to power, the RSS got  involved in nine murders in the state. As many as 209 CPM workers were killed by the RSS in the last decades. The Sangh Parivar has been trying to silence all those who raise their voice against them.

The CPM state chief said that during the UDF regime, there were 27 murders by the RSS.

“After the LDF came to power, there were attempts to bring peace. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan made some sincere attempts to put an end to violence. That is why bilateral talks were held with RSS and BJP leaders, followed by an all-party meet,” Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said.
