Class VI boy loses battle with dengue in Kerala capital

A 12-year-old boy hailing from Venniyoor at Venganoor died of dengue fever at the Medical College Hospital here on Friday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 12-year-old boy hailing from Venniyoor at Venganoor died of dengue fever at the Medical College Hospital here on Friday. The deceased was identified as Anandhu of Nandana Bhavan, Aryottukonam. He was a Class VI student of SNUP School, Kattachalkuzi.

Anandhu was admitted to the Vizhinjam Community Health Centre with fever on May 16. As his condition worsened, he was referred to the Medical College Hospital on May 18. Though dengue was confirmed in the evening and treatment started, he died on Friday morning.

Vizhinjam CHC has started preventive activities in Venganoor after the incident. This is the second dengue death in Venganoor panchayat this month. Last week, 45-year-old Resmi hailing from Peringamala had died of dengue.
