BJP seeks state’s White Paper on Centre schemes

BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has demanded the LDF Government to publish a white paper on the implementation of Centrally-funded schemes in Kerala.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has demanded the LDF Government to publish a white paper on the implementation of Centrally-funded schemes in Kerala. He told reporters on Thursday the Pinarayi Vijayan government has been riding piggyback on Central schemes, and taking credit for them by simply changing the names of the schemes. Referring to the full-page advertisement of the government in newspapers, he listed out many schemes including the ‘Life’ - the total housing mission, which, he alleged, was a makeover of the Centrally-funded housing scheme.

“Even the government’s slogan ‘Namukkorumichu Munneram, Sarkar Oppamundu,’ is an adaptation of the Centre’s own slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’,” Kummanam said.
The advertisement which lists the government achievements, he said, was mum on what the government actually did for the people in its first year.
“It is largely silent on law and order.”

CPM AND CONGRESS
There will come a time, Kummanam said, when the CPM and the Congress engage in an open relationship, moving forward from the tacit relations that they enjoy now. On whether the BJP would welcome K M Mani, he said let Mani make his stand clear. “Then the NDA constituents will discuss it,” he said.

‘PROBE VIZHINJAM DEAL’
Kummanam said the concession agreement for the Vizhinjam port project that has now hit controversy following the CAG report, should be subjected to investigation.
“Let the UDF and the LDF clarify as to how it happened,” he said, on the CAG’s findings the deal favoured the Adani Group more than it did the state.
