THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After 25 long years, the State Animal Husbandry department will organise the national bird and animal show at Ashramam Ground, Kollam, from Friday. Animal Husbandry Minister K Raju told reporters that Chief Minster Pinarayi Vijayan would inaugurate the four-day event at 5 pm on Friday.Ministers J Mercykutty Amma, Kadakampally Surendran, MLAs from the district, Kollam Mayor V Rajendrababu, district panchayat president Jagadamma, Department Director Dr N N Sasi and others will participate in the inaugural.
The show aims to showcase different varieties of animals and birds in the country and give an opportunity for the people to see near extinct animals and birds found in the non-forest areas. Different domestic cattle breeds from within and outside the country, goats, ducks, poultry, deer and pig will be exhibited.
