THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Here’s good news for doctors, nurses and other employees at the SAT hospital. It’s first creche facility to look after children of the staffers will be inaugurated by Health Minister K K Shylaja on Tuesday. The creche has been constructed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. The facility was set upusing the local area development fund of former MP T N Seema. The facility can be availed by doctors, nurses and other staff members of medical college and RCC. It is learned that the idea of creche was mooted after Seema learnt about the plight of nurses who had to leave their little ones at home while attending to duties in shifts from early morning to late night. It has to be seen that majority of those working in the SAT women and children hospital are women.

The creche will also have a CCTV facility through which mothers can observe their children from anywhere in the hospital. Apart from this, Tourism minister Kadakamapally Surendran will dedicate the autoclave machine and the three ventilators to the Thiruvananthapuram medical college.
