IMA to soon launch pilot  project on trauma care

The IMA has come up with a pilot project on how to deal with trauma care of patients, especially on how an accident victim could be taken to the nearest hospital without wasting time.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of widespread criticism on the recent death of a Tamil Nadu native, Murugan,  for want of proper medical care after a road mishap, the IMA has come up with a pilot project on how to deal with trauma care of patients, especially on how an accident victim could be taken to the nearest hospital without wasting time.

The project will be introduced at the IMA Medical Summit GPCon 2017 that will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Tourism and IT Alphons Kannanthanam here on Saturday.

As part of the project, a monitoring cell that would coordinate with all departments would function under the IMA. The monitoring cell will be set up with the cooperation of the government.  One can alert about the accident through a helpline number.
