Alphons Kannanthanam visits Sivagiri Math, BJP HQ

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On his first visit to the state capital after swearing in as Union Minister, Alphons Kannanthanam had a busy schedule on Saturday.  The Union Minister started his day-long schedule with a visit to the Sivagiri Math, along with his wife Sheela. The minister was received by Math president Swami Visudhananda and general secretary Swami Sandrananda. The minister paid a visit to Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi and Sarada Temple. Kannanthanam returned after having breakfast with the monks at Sivagiri Math.

The BJP accorded a rousing reception to the party’s lone Union Minister from the state at the BJP headquarters in the morning. State president Kummanam Rajasekharan, O Rajagopal MLA, P S Sreedharan Pillai, P K Krishnadas, A N Radhakrishnan, M T Ramesh, M Ganesan, P P Vava, C Sivankutty and J R Padmakumar were present. Kannanthanam paid tributes to former leaders at the party office.
