THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kudumbashree products will soon be available at just a click. The women’s collective is set to launch an e-commerce portal named kudumbashreebazar.com to sell its products online.
The new venture is aimed at increasing the reach of Kudumbashree products and improving its market share. There are currently over 15,000 Kudumbashree micro enterprises functioning across the state. Curry powder, grain powder, masala, pickle, jam, squash, coconut oil, handicrafts, cosmetics, toiletries and ready-made dresses are being manufactured in these units.
In the first phase, around 200 products will be featured on the portal. Based on the demand, more products will be included. The new venture is expected to increase the revenue of women in the Kudumbashree self-help organisation.Details, including the product’s photo, a brief description, unit from where it was manufactured and contact number, will be provided on the portal.
Once a user clicks on a particular product, the entrepreneur, the district programme manager and the state mission manager will get an alert.On confirmation of the order, the product will be sent via post. Kudumbashree has inked an agreement with India Post to ensure timely delivery. Once more sales outlets of Kudumbashree come up in the districts, the responsibility of online marketing will be entrusted to these units. Assistance for setting up the portal was provided by the Kerala Startup Mission.
