Bonacaud Kurisumala pilgrimage to start from March 21

The annual Bonacaud Kurisumala pilgrimage will begin on March 21.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The annual Bonacaud Kurisumala pilgrimage will begin on March 21. A 101-member committe was formed for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage which will be conducted from  March 21 to 25 and then on March 30,  Good Friday.

Neyyattinkara Bishop Vincent Samuel and Vicar-General  Christudas have been selected patron and co-patron respectively.

Kurisumala protection committee chairman Fr Shajkumar said the pilgrimage will be as per green protocol.

A 25-member volunteer team has been formed to prevent pilgrims from dumping plastic and other waste on the trekking  path. There is a blanket ban on plastic in the pilgrimage.

The KLCA will conduct free food distribution for pilgrims titled ‘Padheyam’ near Amalolbhava Mata Church at Bonacaud. KLCA diocese president D Raju said all pilgrims will be given free food.
