89.52 lakh aid for government nursing colleges

Infrastructure developments worth Rs 89.52 lakh will take place at Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kozhikode nursing colleges.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Infrastructure developments worth Rs 89.52 lakh will take place at Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kozhikode nursing colleges. This gets facilitated after the government accords its administration sanction for the same on Thursday.

With this, Thiruvananthapuram Government Nursing College will get a financial assistance of Rs 14.52 lakh whereas Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kozhikode nursing colleges will get an amount of Rs 15 lakh, Rs 20 lakh and Rs 40 lakh respectively for carrying out various activities to make them centres of excellence.

“Using the said amount, the Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha Nursing Colleges will purchase necessary equipment for its Nursing Foundation Lab, Child Health Nursing Lab, Community Health Lab, Maternal and Child Health Lab and Advance Clinical Lab,” said an officer with the Health Department.
The officer said while the maintenance of nursing ladies hostel, construction of a parking lot will be carried out at Ernakulam, the allocation for Kozhikode is meant for the protection of the nursing college and its auxiliary road.
