Booster shot to boost public healthcare in Thiruvananthapuram

Administering a ‘booster shot’ to public healthcare, the Health Department has decided to ensure minimum assured standards in Taluk headquarters’ hospitals.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Administering a ‘booster shot’ to public healthcare, the Health Department has decided to ensure minimum assured standards in Taluk headquarters’ hospitals. It will be under the Aardram Mission  the hospitals’ facilities will be improved.  “The very objective of this initiative is to make the hospitals patient-friendly ones and provide quality treatment. Under the initiative two Taluk headquarters’ hospitals in each district will be raised to minimum standards,”  the Health Department said in a release.

At the same time, it is learnt as part of improving the standards, a joint inspection by the National Health Mission State Director and Health Services Director(DHS) will be carried out at those hospitals which have been selected under the initiative. During the inspection, the officers will identify those sectors which need improvement. A proposal will be prepared and the works for improving the standards will be carried out by including them under the Aardram Mission.
