‘ABCD’ launched to make Kerala a blockchain hub

Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) on Tuesday launched its ambitious programme to develop the state into a national hub in the segment.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Taking a giant leap in the blockchain technology domain, the Kerala State Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) on Tuesday launched its ambitious programme to develop the state into a national hub in the segment.

Launching the programme named Accelerated Blockchain Competency Development (ABCD), K-DISC chairman K M Abraham said it will help the state develop talent in blockchain and related technologies.  “Through this programme, we will train students in blockchain technology providing them with an early-mover advantage. We could position the state as the largest supplier of blockchain technologists,” said Abraham.

According to the chairman, as K-DISC has set an ambitious target of producing 25,000 blockchain technologists in three years, ABCD will provide a momentum towards the aim of making the state a national hub of talent in blockchain and related technologies. He also said that around 5,000 students could be trained in the first twelve months under the initiative.

Earlier, the K-DISC chairman highlighted that the state should strengthen its ability to export and create manpower if it wants to create a marked presence in the field.

As per a statement released by K-DISC, the initiative - which will be a three-module programme - is open for diploma holders, graduates and students with engineering and science backgrounds. Through online outreach, the programme has been extended to working professionals too.

The entrance test will be held in July and the classes will begin in August.  For more details on the training programme and entrance test, contact 0471-2700813 or visit abcd.kdisc.kerala.gov.in
