THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University aka Kerala Technical University (KTU) has decided to transfer the students of Shahul Hameed Memorial Engineering College at Kadakkal in Kollam district to various affiliated colleges citing dearth of faculty members and infrastructure.
The university’s action was following the mass petition submitted by the students seeking a transfer from the college for the betterment of their studies. According to the petition, the academic activities in the colleges were improper and irregular. The university has conducted an inquiry and found that the college is deficient in faculty as well as facilities and urgent intervention by the university is inevitable.
The Vice-Chancellor in-charge, J Letha has accorded permission to transfer all the existing students of this university enrolled through the institution to other affiliated institutions (except government/aided colleges) of their choice. The students shall obtain TC from SHM college and furnish the same along with the application for college transfer attached herewith to the college principal to which transfer is sought, she said
