But the destiny continues to be cruel with him as he needs to face another liver transplant surgery within a week in a hospital in Kochi. But after a few years, when he was at class 10, doctors found a hole in his heart and a major surgery was advised. The surgery was successful and he wrote his SSLC examination wearing a face mask.
His ambition of becoming a doctor was also shattered when he suffered a major liver disease during his higher secondary education in 2012. However, he managed to complete the higher secondary exams before going for his first liver transplant surgery in 2015. His mother was the donor and the surgery was completed without any hiccups.

After an year, he suffered dengue fever and Hepatitis B indicating that his liver started failing again.
“Continued medication had by then failed my liver and my mother had to donate 75 percent of her liver to save me. Unfortunately, this liver failed within a year. I have always been an ambitious student and I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. Despite good marks in class 12, because of my sickness, I was forced to take up an IGNOU distance degree and my liver failed as the course reached midway. Now, the doctors have given me a deadline of one month to redo the liver transplant. I have no options left to raise the money for the surgery,” Sagar said.

Sagar’s father Jayachandran Nair was a ration shopkeeper and he had to shut his shop for his son’s treatment. His mother Sindhu is a housewife and he has a younger sister Anjana.Sagar will be admitted to Aster Medicity this week and the liver transplant alone will cost Rs 25 lakh. Apart from this, he has to raise fund for post-surgery treatment. He also has to find a matching donor too. Those who wish to help Sagar can contact him on 9048932757. His bank account details:
