Women’s safety is at the touch of a button now. Believe it or not, there is now an application for the purpose. The security app, after its recent launch, is getting a good response from women folk.

The system sends alerts to all authorities concerned, if a woman is in trouble. This is a security app that allows women  who might be in distress, to hit a single button. It will instantly send a locator and identifier to the authorities, where they can come and provide any assistance they may need.

The app is called ‘In Case of Emergency’ (ICE). It is a free downloadable application. ICE was developed by Eben technology, a Kerala-based startup.

Here is how it works:

When you are in an emergency, you tap on the app. A helping hand or a source will pop up. You press which service you need, and it instantly connects you with the help you need.

As per a statement issued by officials of ICE, there are currently around 450 registered users.

“The facility can also be used by one who doesn’t have a smartphone. The person can type ICE and send it to 9645221221 as SMS. The team is also planning to start a security facility through even a missed call,” said Kiran Kumar, business head, Eben Telecom.
