Man Held for Selling Ganja

A 65-year-old man was arrested by Kallambalam police on Monday for selling ganja. The arrested has been identified as Chandraboss of Mavinmoodu, near here.

 According to the police, he was taken in to custody for selling ganja near a bus stop here. The police said that he was caught even earlier on a similar charge. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.

Two Men Found Hanging

In separate incidents, two men were found hanging in their houses on Monday at Malayinkeezhu. The deceased have been identified as Gopi, 47 of Malayinkeezhu and Karunakaran alias Karnan, 47, of Malayam at Malayinkeezhu, near here.

 According to the police, both of them were alcoholics. Gopi was a bachelor. Karnan is survived by his wife Anitha and two children Kiran and Arun.

 

Girl Die; Medical Negligence Alleged

A 14-year-old girl died in the wee hours of Monday in a private hospital at Pozhiyoor. The deceased has been identified as Meera Mohan of Kannankonam at Kulathoor, near here.

 The Pozhiyoor police registered a case based on a complaint filed by the relatives of the girl alleging that she had died following medical negligence. The police said that according to her relatives, she was taken to a private hospital owing to vomiting on Monday around 1 am. ‘’After giving injection, the doctors at the hospital said that she was normal, but at 2.25 am they declared that she was dead,’’ the police said.

 Later, her body was taken to Medical College Hospital for postmortem.

 Meera was the elder daughter of Mohan and Jeeva. Megha is her sister.
