Meet on Intelligent Computing

The second edition of three-day biennial international conference on ‘Recent Advances in Intelligent Computational Systems (RAICS)’ was inaugurated on Thursday by CUSAT Pro Vice-Chancellor K Paulose Jacob.

The event organised by Institute of Electricals and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Kerala Section will see over 60 papers being presented by engineers from India, South and South East Asia and Europe.

The keynote address was delivered by Manish Gupta, VP - Xerox and Director Xerox Research Centre India on ‘Transformation of Industries by Big Data and Some Research Challenges’. The theme for the conference is ‘Technologies for Bridging Cyber-Physical Divide.’ The conference will have six tracks, namely Cyber-Physical systems, Big Data, Reconfigurable Computing, Internet-of-Things, Smart Systems and Contemporary Signal Processing.

Inaugurating the conference, K Paulose said, “Technology is becoming an integral part of our lives and especially intelligent computation systems. Therefore it is necessary to use them as tools for progress and not as a disruptive technology. The need to up one’s ethical sensitivity towards technology is the need of the hour.”

Earlier in the day, Xun Luo, Office of the Chief Scientist (R&D) Qualcomm and IEEE Vice Chair C S Geographic Unit Operations Committee, conducted a session.
