SBI’s 1,000th ATM in State

The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened its 1,000th ATM in the state at Sasthamangalam. SBI chief general manager, Kerala Circle, Dr M Sreenatha Sastry, inaugurated the new ATM.

 The bank is planning to open another 400 ATMs in the state by the end of March this year. At present, the SBI operates more than 41,000 ATMs across the country. The SBI is also planning to install 79 more Cash Deposit Machines (CDM) at various branches, the bank said in a statement.

At present, the SBI has installed CDMs in 35 branches which help customers avoid queues. These are round-the-clock facilities enabling customers deposit up to Rs 49,900 using the ATM card/Green Remit Card/SME Insta Deposit Card. The bank also operates 53 Self Service Kiosks which help customers carry out various other banking activities, including pass book updation.
