VIJAYAWADA/KAKINADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Opposition leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will begin campaigning for their candidates contesting the Kakinada Municipal Corporation elections on Saturday. Naidu, after hosting a civic reception for Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu at the state secretariat, will leave for Kakinada which will go to polls on August 29.

The TDP is contesting 39 of the 48 divisions in the corporation while the BJP, its poll partner, will be fighting it out with YSRC candidates in the rest of the divisions. Though there are 50 divisions in the city, the election is being held only in 48 because of a High Court stay order. Naidu will address his first public meeting in the city at Nagamalli Thota Centre. Jagan will spend the entire day in Kakinada addressing public meetings and return to Hyderabad on Sunday morning.
