12 AP cops injured  on way to Sabarimala

 Twelve police personnel from Anantapur district were injured in a road accident when a tempo rammed into a bus they were travelling in at Chandrapur in Kerala on Friday.

VIJAYAWADA: Twelve police personnel from Anantapur district were injured in a road accident when a tempo rammed into a bus they were travelling in at Chandrapur in Kerala on Friday. The condition of four of the injured is critical.According to AP police sources, the police personnel were on their way to Sabarimala on special duty for the ongoing Deeksha relinquishment.

Two sub-inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors and eight constables took a train from Anantapur and reached Chandrapur railway station around 10 am. A speeding tempo rammed the bus they were travelling in near Pamba. The injured were given first-aid. The seriously injured were admitted to a local government hospital. 

Anantapur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravi Shankar Reddy requested the officials concerned in Kerala to help the injured and keep the district headquarters informed of their condition. A senior official in AP Police headquarters said the injured were out of danger and being brought back to Anantapur. “One head constable and three constables received nose injuries. They are out of danger. Another team has been sent for performing duties in Sabarimala,” he added.
