Navyandhra Book Festival to begin from Jan 1 at Swaraj Maidan

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada is all set to host the 29th book festival from January 1 to 11 at Swaraj Maidan. Vijayawada Book Festival Society (VBFS), Cultural Department of AP ww and NTR Trust will jointly  organise the Navyandhra Book Festival in all 13 districts of the State. The books festivals would be held at Ananthapur, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Nellore, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, etc.

Addressing a conference at VBFS hall on Monday, NTR Trust CEO Vishnu Vardan said the book festivals across the State would go on for over 100 days right from this January to December. The festival would take off at Vijayawada on January 1. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu along with CM Naidu would participate in the inaugural event.

He also said that cultural events would be organised in all the book festivals. Eminent writers, artists, educational personalities and others would participate in the book festival. For the first time, the State government has given a grant of `50 lakh for conducting the book festival. President of VBFS Peddi Ramarao stated that the book festival in Vijayawada would have around 350 stalls.
