VIJAYAWADA: District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) organised a coordination meeting with the Vijayawada police and lawyers in the city to discuss the emerging changes in criminal juvenile justice system and new laws in the judiciary on Saturday. 

District Collector B Lakshmikantham, Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang, Joint Police Commissioner B V Ramana Kumar, Vijayawada metropolitan sessions court judge Ravindra Babu, DLSA officer Lakshmana Rao and others attended the coordination meeting held in Nyaya Seva Sadan in Suryaraopet.
Commissioner Gautam Sawang said there is a huge need to create awareness on increasing criminal cases and the methodology to solve them. 

He further said there are many cases pending since 2012 and should be settled by coordinating with officials and prosecutors concerned. “Public prosecutors should take up the responsiblity of non-bailable warrants issued prior 2012 and finish the hearings of cases filed by police,” he said.
