VIJAYAWADA: The Roots Health Foundation conferred Lifetime Achievement Award to Tenali based veteran general physician P Dakshina Murthy for his services to the health sector at a function on Sunday. Film actress Manchu Lakshmi participated as guest of honour for the event and launched a website of the foundation.
It may be recalled that Roots Health Foundation has been presenting the awards annually to doctors recognising their services to the health sector. “The foundation has been conducting several activities to help the poorer sections in the society to get proper medical care and taken up preventive measures to help them stay healthy,” said Roots Health Foundation chairman Dr PVS Vijaya Bhaskar.
He also gave an overview of the activities being undertaken by the foundation since a year.
Others awarded on the occasion included Dr P Gangadhara Rao, Dr Harikishan Malpani, Dr AY Rao and Dr PHC Murthy. Irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao and others were also present.
