Devotee sentiments to be honoured in temple development

Endowment Minister P Manikyala Rao has directed officials concerned to ‘develop temples without hurting devotees’ sentiments.’

VIJAYAWADA: Endowment Minister P Manikyala Rao has directed officials concerned to ‘develop temples without hurting devotees’ sentiments.’  Noting the progress of various schemes and works taken up by the department in past few months, the minister wanted to know to what extent have facilities improved in the temple for the devotees. 


Endowment Commissioner YV Anuradha said the response to Divya Darshanam scheme has been good. She said that till date 19,175 pilgrims from 115 mandals have been shown various pilgrim places of importance, totalling to 99 trips using 390 buses. 


She said, “Besides introducing online tickets, e-Officers and biometric systems in major temples, financial advisors have been appointed to the temples.” She further added that E-Pragathi system has been introduced in Tirumala, Annavaram, Simhachalam, Kanaka Durga, Srikalahasti, Kanipakam and Srisailam temples and in coming days it would be introduced in nine more temples.
