Sasikala's parents dig in heels, say Hanumantha Rao murdered duo

Sasikala's parents Venkateswara Rao and Krishna Kumari alleged that their son-in-law Hanumantha Rao had brutally murdered the two.

VIJAYAWADA: Even as mystery shrouds the murder of 38-year-old NRI Narra Sasikala and her six-year-old son Anish Sai at Fox Meadows Apartment Complex in Burlington of New Jersey in USA, her parents Venkateswara Rao and Krishna Kumari on Saturday alleged that their son-in-law Hanumantha Rao had brutally murdered the two. They requested the US government to do justice to their family.

"We have information that there are several injuries on the body. Hanumantha Rao, who had an extra-marital affair, was harassing my daughter and we have e-mails as evidence. For the past three years, he was demanding that she give him her salary and also asked her to pay the school fee of the boy and house rent. We are sure he committed the crime and is now acting innocent. Our friends in the US have informed us that the progress in the investigation will be known only on Monday," Krishna Kumari said.

Sasikala's husband claims to have found her and Anish in a pool of blood in their bedroom when he returned home from office Thursday night. Sasikala's parents live in Vijayawada while Hanumatha Rao's are from Parchuru in Prakasam district.

Sources said Hanumatha Rao was taken into custody by the police and was sent home after a 10-hour questioning session. The Cops who are investigating the crime are for now tight-lipped on the extent to which the investigation has progressed.

According "The Jersey Journal" an NJ daily, the prosecutor's office had informed that autopsies had been done by Burlington county medical examiner Ian Hood. A spokesman for the prosecutor's office said there was no evidence to ascertain if it was a hate crime. No arrests have been made and Sasikala's husband was not arrested.

The management of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Maple Shade of which Narra Anish Sai was a student expressed sympathies and encouraged students and others to join in praying for Anish Sai and Sasikala.
