Construction of Fish Landing Centre to begin at Biyyaputippa in July

The State government will take up construction of Fish Landing Centre (FLC) at Biyyaputippa village in Narasapuram rural mandal in July.

ELURU: The State government will take up construction of Fish Landing Centre (FLC) at Biyyaputippa village in Narasapuram rural mandal in July.  The `13.58 crore project will be immensely beneficial to fishermen of the region. 


Joint Director of Fisheries S Anjali inspected the proposed site for the construction of FLC at Biyyaputippa on Friday.Speaking to newsmen, she said tenders for the construction of the Fish Landing Centre would be invited soon.

She also inspected the solar and wind hybrid chilling plant being set up at Chinamainavani Lanka at a cost of `15 lakh. Construction of a fish drying platform was also taken up in the village at a cost of `9 lakh under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). 


After inspecting the manufacture of fibre reinforced plastic boats taken up at a cost of `50 lakh, she directed the fisheries officials to distribute the FRP boats to fishermen within one month. The Joint Director of Fisheries interacted with farmers who took up crab farming at Turputallu village.


District Fisheries Cooperative Society president Andraju Challa Rao, Assistant Director of Fisheries D Ramanakumar and other officials accompanied the Joint Director during her visit to Biyyaputippa and other villages.
