VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that infrastructure in villages should be improved. He added once the infrastructure improves, village and agriculture tourism would also increase.
Participating in the short discussion on infrastructure development under MGNREGA in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, Naidu said members should feel proud for serving as an MLA in the present term and achieving development in all sectors.

Naidu said Panchayat Raj roads have been laid over a stretch of 13,192 km and another 18,000 km roads are to be completed. He said in the coming two years, 100 percent target should be achieved in laying rural roads. He added that LED street lighting would be introduced in villages and 30 lakh LED bulbs would be installed by November 2018.

The Chief Minister said all the Panchayat Raj buildings would be equipped with video conference facility to provide an opportunity to ministers, MLAs and officials to interact with officials and review development works in rural areas. Speaking of the housing programme, the TDP chief said a target has been set to complete 19 lakh houses before going to the 2019 elections.

Fodder security should be provided to cattle and the responsibility should be handed over to DWCRA groups to overcome the fodder crisis. The Chief Minister said playgrounds should be developed in all villages. Green cover should be increased to 50 percent in the State by taking up plantation drive in a big way.Naidu said cattle dung should be collected from all houses in villages to prepare compost and the programme should be completed in all villages by December 2018.

Coming down heavily on the YSRC, both Naidu and Lokesh said that the opposition party leaders are making all attempts to thwart the development of the State.While the State government is performing well in creation of assets and providing more work to wage seekers, YSRC is trying to stop the flow of funds by writing letters to Centre, he said.

Assembly session extended
The winter session of the Assembly, which was scheduled to conclude on November 25, has been extended for two more days.

The Business Advisory Committee met on Monday took a decision to conduct business on November 27, 28,and 29. There will be holiday for the House on November 25 and 26.
