Flood water in Srisailam reservoir is steadily receding with inflows from both Jurala Project in Telangana  and Sunkesula barrage on Tungabhadra declining since Saturday evening.

VIJAYAWADA: Flood water in Srisailam reservoir is steadily receding with inflows from both Jurala Project in Telangana  and Sunkesula barrage on Tungabhadra declining since Saturday evening.

At 8 p.m. on Sunday, the water level in the project was 883.90 feet against Full Reservoir level of 885 feet. The volume of water stood at 209.5948 TMC. The inflows were at the rate of 1,26,210 cusecs, of which 1,15,753 cusecs was from Jurala alone. The outflows too have reduced. Now, the outflows were at the discharge rate of 1,71,135 cusecs, of which 82,710 cusecs is being released from the spillway.  

With decrease in the inflows, four of the seven gates that were opened to 10 feet were closed on Sunday and the rest would be closed depending on the inflows. Meanwhile, the inflows into Nagarjuna Sagar also have decreased.
