VIJAYAWADA: Though Rs 126 crore has been spent on the development works, authorities of the Srisailam temple require funds to a tune of Rs 80 crore for completion of the remaining works. During the review meeting convened by Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Tuesday on the development of Srisailam temple, temple executive officer N Bharat Gupta informed that they have taken up 15 development projects at an estimated cost of Rs 333.97 crore.

“Out of the 15 projects, we have completed eight projects like construction of shopping complex, drinking water scheme, pilgrim amenities centre, internal roads, outer ring road, choultry with 200 rooms, Rajagopuram, Goshala and LED lights. Six more projects are nearing completion. But, we are yet invite tenders for the remaining projects,” Gupta said.

“We have already spent Rs 126 crore, and now we are in urgent need of Rs 80 crore for completing the ongoing works,” he added. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary directed the officials to ensure quality in all the works being taken up by the Devasthanams. He also wanted the officials to develop Srisailam into a religious tourism centre.
