VIJAYAWADA: Organising committee of Amaravathi Balotsavam is all set to conduct this year’s three-day Balotsavam programme from December 17 onwards, said S P Rama Raju, president of Amaravati Balotsavam.
The balotsavam will be held at Krishnaveni Talent School in Patamata near NTR Circle. As many as 58 cultural and academic competitions will be conducted.
Last year, nearly 4,000 students from 143 schools of Vijayawada and other surrounding areas participated in the 49 competitions conducted by the organisers. Out of these students, 20 per cent were from municipal and government schools.
“There is a need to create a platform for young children to exhibit their talent. Organising such programmes encourages young talent,”said Chukkapalli Arun Kumar, MD of Popular Shoes. Boddu Nageswararao, Member of Legislative Council, mentioned various activities such as free tuition and computer training classes, that are being undertaken by the organisation.
Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao, honorary president, R Kondalarao, general secretary, Pinnamaneni Muralikrishna and G Jyotsna, secretaries, Dr Venna Vallabharao, vice-president and others were present at the event.
