VIJAYAWADA:  The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), on Saturday, allotted houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-NTR Housing to the families in the capital region, who don’t own a house. Civil Supplies minister Prathipati Pulla Rao participated in the electronic lottery systems and gave away the allotment documents.

Speaking on the occasion, Pulla Rao said that lots were drawn to allot houses to 1,383 beneficiaries. “As per our government’s promise, we are providing houses on subsidy to the families which don’t own a house or a land. We have made the allotments of flats to the beneficiaries from Navuluru, Penumaka and Nidamarru villages, who have paid their part of the contribution,” he said. 

It may be noted that as per the Land Pooling Scheme, the of government promised to provide housing to the houseless as well as those losing houses in the course of capital development. The APCRDA has allocated 45.5 acres in eight locations to take up constructions of over 5,000 flats., which are ranging from 300 sqft to 430 sqft in size. The flats are priced between Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 7.65 lakh.
