VIJAYAWADA:  Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will attend the oath- taking ceremony of the three new Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. He is expected to use the events for strengthening the anti-BJP platform he is proposing at the national level. In the recent elections, the Congress won all the three BJP-ruled States and is all set to form the government there. After snapping his ties with the BJP, Naidu had been proposing an anti-BJP platform and had used the oath-taking ceremony of HD Kumara Swamy in Karnataka to unite anti-BJP parties.

In a teleconference with the party leaders on Saturday, Naidu once again vouched for strengthening forces against the ruling BJP at the Centre. Naidu, who also reviewed the TDP’s performance in neighbouring Telangana Assembly elections, hoped that the results of Telangana will not have any impact on the party’s prospects in Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot, who is all set to take oath as Chief Minister of Rajasthan on December 17, invited Naidu to attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held in Jaipur. In a letter to Naidu, Gehlot mentioned that the Assembly election result is not just a victory for the Congress, but also a victory for progressive politics, a victory for all those who uphold the Constitution of India and believe in the nation’s diversity and plurality.

“Our parties have been partners in our joint struggle to defeat forces who have left no stone unturned to undermine our democracy. By giving the Congress a decisive mandate, the people of Rajasthan have shown their unwavering support towards the politics we represent,’’ Gehlot mentioned in the letter.

Naidu will be attending the oath taking ceremony of Gehlot as well as the CMs of MP and Chhattisgarh on the same day.Meanwhile, Naidu is leaving for Chennai on Sunday to attend Tamil Nadu former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s idol unveiling ceremony. Leaders of several national and regional parties are expected to participate in the event.
