Patamata police raid hotel, arrest Mumbai-based woman allegedly involved in prostitution

Patamata police arrested a 28-year-old Mumbai-based woman, from a hotel near Benz Circle on Monday for allegedly being involved in prostitution.

VIJAYAWADA: Patamata police arrested a 28-year-old Mumbai-based woman, from a hotel near Benz Circle on Monday for allegedly being involved in prostitution.Though the woman was alone in the room when the cops raided the hotel, she was shifted to a rehabilitation centre after being arrested by the police.

Police sources identified the woman as one P Vidya. Police are on the look out for one Hanuma Naik, who she said had contacted her through an escort service website and asked her to come to Vijayawada on Sunday.

After being alerted about her stay in the hotel, Patamata police raided the hotel and took her into custody on Monday at around 9 am. “According to the woman, she was contacted by a person named Hanuma Naik, who hired her through an escort service website. Naik asked her to come to Vijayawada. She reached Vijayawada by flight and checked into the hotel. Naik however, did not come,” police said.  Police took her into custody and counselled her in the rehabilitation centre. “We are investigating into the case and a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding Hanuma Naik,” Patamata police said.

Escort service

Police are on the look out for one Hanuma Naik, who she said had contacted her through an escort service website and asked her to come to Vijayawada on Sunday. After being alerted about her stay in the hotel, Patamata police raided the hotel and took her into custody.
