‘Divyang-Friendly Toilets’ at all important stations under South Central Railway soon

The GM said the SCR had achieved another landmark on the punctuality aspect, as mail/express trains were found to be punctual 90 per cent of the times, the best recorded during the year.

VIJAYAWADA:   South Central Railway (SCR) general manager Vinod Kumar Yadav called upon the officials concerned to design proposals for construction of ‘Divyang Friendly Toilets’ on platforms of all important stations under the division to improve passenger amenities.  In a detailed review meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, he instructed the DRMs to note the passengers’ complaints regarding cleanliness of trains and stations, and food and lenin quality. He instructed them to address their complaints as soon as possible, and ensure passenger satisfaction.

The GM said the SCR had achieved another landmark on the punctuality aspect, as mail/express trains were found to be punctual 90 per cent of the times, the best recorded during the year.Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, during his visit to Secunderabad, had exhorted the rail force to work with motivation and zeal to improve performance. He advised the officials to focus on issues which were hampering punctuality, such as temporary speed restrictions, passenger train movements, infrastructural works etc., and instructed them to identify the root cause of such failures. He suggested them to take corrective measures at the ground level to improve the punctuality of the trains.      

Instructions were also given to the security department officials to strengthen child help desks. They were advised to open more help desks at all important stations to fast track children’s issues. He reviewed the loading performance of the zone and advised the officials to supply empty rakes to divisions to meet the demand and improve the process.John Thomas, Additional General Manager, along with Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six divisions attended the meeting through video conference.
