VIJAYAWADA: The long-pending proposal of the people to renovate public toilets at NTR municipal complex and AMC complex will be addressed soon. Municipal commissioner J Nivas has instructed the engineering department officials to prepare estimates for the purpose.

The NTR municipal complex, for years, has been serving as a one-stop centre for people from the city or neighbouring districts, looking for electronics of varying budget.

With public toilets at NTR municipal complex and AMC complex lying defunct, people are facing hardships.

On several occasions, officials have proposed to renovate the toilets, but have failed to execute the works due to reasons unknown.

The civic body chief on Thursday inspected the AMC complex and directed the officials to transport the illegal encroachments into shops. “Officials were also instructed to study the feasibility for installing elevators in the complex,” Nivas said.
